Cleared the PMP Exam Today

I cleared the exam today. I would like to thank all of you folks for the invaluable tips and suggestions. I remember starting a topic asking for advice when I had 15 days for the exam. Below is the process I followed.

I started about 45 days before, reading the PMBOK, but did not really grasp all the concepts. I had read some positive reviews about Andy Crowe's book, so got one and read the book. In my opinion-Start with Andy's book, the concepts are written in a clear crisp format. After you are done, you can read the PMBOK The concepts will be much clearer. I also used Rita's book , but the tests at the end of each chapter were more useful that the content, which I found wordy and tedious.

I got my PDU's from PMStudy. The practice tests at the end of each chapter( About 50 -80) did help me a lot. I read the PMBOK and Andy Crowe Twice. The second time I read the PMBOK, I underlined all the essential points. I read through the points once again before the exam.

I prepared a 9 page word document, one for each knowledge area. It had knowledge area and the process group with blank inputs/Outputs/tools. Last 15 days, I practiced filling the sheet everyday.  I was trying to understand the logical processes as I wrote the ITTO's down. This was a HUGE help in the exam. I also practiced writing down page 43 in PMBOK.

I took 2 tests from Oliver Lehmann, Andy's 200, 2 tests from Simplilearn, one from pm-abc and some random tests apart from the pmstudy tests. These tests helped me identify gaps in my knowledge.

Yes, it is a great feeling to be a PMP. Thanks once again for all the Support !!!!!!!!!!!
