The correct answer is

A..

I thought it would be customer who would authorize the closure of the project. Sponsor authorized initiation of the project but the final Okay for closure should be coming from customer because at the end of the day project team is delivering something to business or external customer who got to Okay it.. Please clarify if my thinking is incorrect.

Thanks in advance

BY A COMMON SENSE GENERALLY WHO WILL INITIATE- THE SAME WILL PERMIT TO CLOSE.

I have no any other input except this universal rule of thumb,

Hi PMPtry123,

Let me ask you a question? (Hopefully, you are an Indian)

Who was the power to appoint and remove/dismiss a Governor of any state?

The answer is "The President"!

So, what does this mean? Someone who has the power to connect also has the power to disconnect. The sponsor starts a project, therefore, only he has the power to bring it to an end. This is what precisely respected Pawarji Sir is/was trying to drive.

Please do not be confused or tricked if you get a question where you are asked who has to see that everything on the project is done with before closing a project? The answer in this case is a PM and certainly not a Sponsor. The Sponsor's job is to start/end, fund, and manage disputes which is beyond the PM. And the rest of the time he sits back and enjoys life. A no-gooder like me :)

I hope I did not confuse you much :)

Thank You, KK...

Thanks a lot for clarification to both of you..
