Does the Exam Scope Creep from PMBOK?

Dear PMZ Community,

This question is for those who have taken the exam, it is simply this: does the exam purely focus on material from PMBOK5?  Or does it include information from other sources as well?

Sorry if this has been asked/answered elsewhere, I have searched without result.

I had assumed that because it is all from PMI that it would be solely based on PMBOK5.  The reason why I am in doubt is because many of the practice exam resources I am using (PMstudy, Scordo...etc) refer to materials other than the PMBOK5.

Thanks in advance,

- Justice

You will discover much more description on concept ,detail than pmbok.

OK thanks for the reply.

Justice,
This is an interesting query. The PMP exam is more comprehensive than just the PMBOK. It covers a lot of information and 10 particular Knowledge Areas (KAs). You'll find a lot of information on the exam in a book called Project Management: A Systems Approach. I teach PMP prep for http://www.pmstudy.com. We cover a very comprehensive list exam topics. You can contact me directly at sandra.s@PMstudy.com for more information.

Sandy is absolutely correct here. Great answer Sandy!
