  Question No : 29

One of your team members filed a critical report ten minutes before a bidder conference. You notice some serious errors have crept into the report. You should:

Choice 1 Cancel the meeting and reschedule it at a later date

Choice 2 Go ahead with the meeting and tell the participants what is wrong with the report

Choice 3 Go ahead with the meeting, but ask your team member to make the presentation

Choice 4 Refer the team member`s report to management and ask them to cancel the meeting

A

A?

 Choice 1 ?

which is right answer 1 or 2?

ans-1 as  defnitely 2 and 3 are not the correct options. between 1 &4, I would go with 1

I would have gone with 2.

But I guess correct ans given as 1 . isn't it an extreme step?

The question is mentioning about just before 10 minutes. Is it possible to cancel a meeting just before 10 minutes?. what reason are you going to tell your bidders?

Suppose the project is of the value of multi billions; the vendors will be not only from your city, but from  every part of the world. It is not so easy to cancel a meeting where the attendees are of international repute.

So  I feel the best option is B.

Expert views are appreciated   on  this issue whether any PMI directive is there to handle such situations

Thanks BK and abdsal, I had the exact same thought process. 1st of all you can't cancel a scheduled a meeting like a Bidder Conference (which involes a lot of work from all the parties for prepration and coming up with the right questions to ask) with only 10 mins left and second of all, all the other possible questions aslways talk about the PM to be proactive and report mistakes immediately as they occur and not hide this. By cancelling the meeting, you are trying to buy yourself some time to correct the mistakes without letting everyone know what really happened.

The official Ans is A, but I had seleved B - Which does not register well for my brain!
