Apologies if this has been covered before, but I wanted to know if anyone has tried to get CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credit for PMP prep? If so, what is the process?

I've got the following response from my employer regarding my question whether anyone had tried to do so at my workplace:

"There have been other submissions from staff that have taken courses from PMI but from the ones I have seen, the certificate of completions actually had the CPE value information provided or there was a course description document from the PMI website that included details that we could use to accept and process.  

We also can accept a letter from the sponsor that confirm CPE value information so if can either obtain the course information from the website or information directly a PMI contact, please forward that information to me."

Let me know if anyone has had experience in this.
