Good questions on PMP
I do not have the options for these questions. I would appreciate if you could respond what you think are the best response? This would help all who are preparing for the PMP exam.
1) During executing, one important resource had to leave due to emergency. You
replaced him with another new person. Did you acquire/manage/develop
team/mitigate risk ?
2) Scope & time not finalized. What contract will you
choose ?
3) Issue has occured which was not identified earlier. what reserve will you
use ?
4) Sponsor was changed in project by a new sponsor. Now who controls budget?
5) Customer has requested a change after project deliverables have been
finished and customer has also accepted. What will you do next ?
6) In which tool/technique do you find ES, LS, EF & LF ?
7) Your top resource has quit. Functional manager offers weak resource as
replacement. Contractor can give you equally good resource but at a cost. What
will you do ?
8) How to improve performance of virtual team ?

fAns) answershould be Manage team, as it belongs to conflict and problem, these are part of the manage team process. From risk management point it amy fall under workaround but that is not risk mitigation..
2) Scope & time not finalized. What contract will you

Ans) CPIF?
3) Issue has occured which was not identified earlier. what reserve will you
use ?
ans) Issue are not identified, the risks are identified. The risk gets converted to issue if not managed / mitigated, so first work with workaround solution try to fix it. But the we need to know first risk was identifed? and what are the options provided...contingency & management reserves are both part of the choices?
4) Sponsor was changed in project by a new sponsor. Now who controls budget?
Ans) What are the opitons for it? There should be change request for the change in the Sponsor with to project charter? and secondly who controls the project, project manager controls project , sponsor only funds it.
5) Customer has requested a change after project deliverables have been
finished and customer has also accepted. What will you do next ?
Ans) Start working on the closure of the phase, final report submission, account closing, fseek the customer feedback, final update to lessons learned and arhive the records.

Ans) This should be part of PDM (Predecessor Diagram method).
7) Your top resource has quit. Functional manager offers weak resource as
replacement. Contractor can give you equally good resource but at a cost. What
will you do ?
ans) Evaluate, go thorugh the options available (crashing, fast tracking etc), internally get it apporved by sponsor, change request to CCB and then see if it gets approved or rejected for getting resource from contractor.
8) How to improve performance of virtual team ?
ans) Team building initiatives, motivational factors, basic needs to be evalutaed and appled.
without providing options it becomes difficult to provide as topic becomes much wider.

Patil - Thanks for the responses. I do not have the options. I got these from one of the PMP groups where someone has posted these questions just after getting out the real PMP exam in April 2013.

Get the answers validated since there are no options...for some it could be difficult to really make out ...
Another thing for your info...you shouldn't publish such questions, I mean real PMP exam questions or encourage anyone to do that...it's against the ethics...FYI..
