Guidance Needed:- PMI Membership would expire in July 2012
Hiiii Group,
I registered for the PMI memership lat year Julay 2011 and it now about to expire in July 2012. During that tenure I appeared twice for the exam but could'nt cleared it. Now I have only one attempt left for whcih I am very nervous as this time it do or die situation.
My query is following:-
1) Should I wait for some more for the peperation and tried later on. As not sure whats the process is once my PMI membership gets expires then I have to renew it again and apply for the eligibility credentials which might or not go for audits?
2) Should the PMI membership and the eligibility credentials are seperate whats the expiry date of both?
Thanks n Regards

As per my experience in conducting PMP workshop, I have noticed generally 40-45 days of preparations is sufficient for those people who have already appeared PMP exam earlier (i.e. 2nd timer or 3rd timer).
You not necessary need to renew your PMP membership, but keep in mind if you pay the exam Free without membership, its cost would be higher. It’s a recommended way i.e. pay exam free with membership active so that you overall pay less money. PMI membership costs $129, but you get a $150 discount on the exam. Straight forward you save $21. But again, this choice is yours.
Audits would come into picture only if you pay the exam fee. Eligibility would remain as it is, as long as you keep your PMI ID same i.e. your member ID.
PMP Eligibility once approved….remains approved lifetime until you are caught in some malpractices.
PMI membership is valid for 1 year from the date of membership payment. I guess you are Indian, if so you can even continue membership at $65 only. This is a new scheme for 4 countries includingIndia .
All the best.
