Is it possible for me to include my experience as a Researcher at my university as PMP experience?

 Hello,

So I helped create/design experiments at my University under guidance from a professor. This is research was eventually published. I also conducted the actual experiment with different human test subjects. Could I count this as experience for my PMP application? (Possibly just in Execution/Planning)

Also, how far back can I go to count my experience. My Researching started 8 years go and lasted 7 months.

In additon to that I produced a theatre production over 8 months. I oversaw all expenditures for the production and also managed volunteers. This was also during my undergrad. Could I count this as well?

Thanks!

You can always email PMI.org support team to clarify, but in my opinion research experience may not count for PMP eligibility unless you can show that in your current job you have spent 4500 hours on PM activities like Initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing.
