Strategy during Exam (on breaks)

 Hi Guys

One quick question.

how do you plan your breaks during 4 hr exam?

are you allowed to eat or take light snacks during breaks? kindly share your thoughts

Plan beforehand, after how many questions do you plan to take any breaks. When you take a break, you will have to sign out, go outside of the testing room and grab your snack by the lockers. Eat and drink by the locker area and then you have to sign in to get back in. Not sure, if they will scan you again. I did not take any breaks, but I had asked the question just in case if I needed a break.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Veena, PMP

The procedure mentioned above is similar what i have experienced in my PMP exam.

I had kept in my mind to go for a break once i complete 100 questions.  On the pessimistic side, i did kept the target of completing 50 questions in one hour which I achieved while taking the break.

Went out for couple of min and then came back to solve the balance questions. As a result, i just completed my exam within 2-3 min of the balance time. I had marked around 20 questions for review but could complete only 3.

Trust this will help for your time management

If your time gets overshot from the above limits then i suggest do not take break till u recover to this bare minimum requirements

I just cleared my PMP yesterday.

While taking the mock exams I had a peaceful atomosphere in my room and I was able to finish the exam in 3-3.5 hours. The exam venue will be a new place and there could be lots of distractions. In my case the person taking test next to me was continiously typying hard. So it'll take time to settle down with your rhythm.

Plan to take a break only if you finish a min set of questions in a certain amount of time also keeping in mind the questions you have marked for later review. Also as the others have said the screening process is redone each time you take a break which will kill your time.
