Project Mgmt Framework questions from Rita

 Hi guys,

I have recently started studying PMP and planning to write PMP on 29th July. Have finished PMBoK and Rita (along with questions at the end) once and now I have started PMBoK and Rita together (same chapter from each book).

Now the trouble is after having read the same chapter almost 4 times (so far) when I am trying the questions at the end of each chapter i am not getting all correct (I got 72% correct)

Here are top two annoying questions from this chapter.

Ques 16: The previous project manager for your project managed without much project organization. There is a lack of management control and no clearly defined project deliverables. which of the following would be the best choice for getting your poject bette organized?

A. Adopt a life cycle aproach to the project.

B. Develop lessons learnt for each phase.

C. Develop specific work plan for each work package.

D. develop a description of the product of the project.

my answer: D (because they have no clearly defined project deliverables so best would be to know what are the objectives or description of product of the project)

Rita's answer: A

Ques 17: A project team is working of manufacturing a new product, but they are having difficulty creating a project charter. what is the best description of the problem?

A. they have not identified the project objectives.

B. they are working on a process not a project

C. the end date has not been set.

C. they have not identified the product of the project.

My answer: A (because if you dont have project objectives they how can you develop a charter)

Rita's Answer: B (how come... this is a new product they are manufacturing. It may be a new car, or a new building or a new software)

guys sometimes I feel this is not PMP. these questions in Rita seems more close to critical reasoning in GMAT. Can someone please motivate me by saying PMP doesnt ask these kind of confusing questions.

 Second question;

Looks tricky. Notice "is working on manufacturing". It means they are executing something. If it would be a project, the execution part of the project couldnt be started without the authorization/charter.

I agree, such questions are not like PMP exam. Neither they help in clearing your concepts, it goes to the level of testing a PM, but more importantly no one can agree with the answer. Its just the best choice comparing other three, not necesarily the right answer

Ignore such questions and move ahead.
