Need advice - EXAM on 7/20/2013 - IMP

 Hello PMP Certified Guys/Gals

 

   I need advise from you all on my mock test results so far to decide to postpone the exam by a week or not

 

1. Oliver 75 question - 71%

2. Rita PM Fast Track (200Qs) - 74.3%

3. PMStudy (paid, 200Qs) - 75%

4. Simplilearn (200Qs) - 73 %

 

   Is these results good enough for attending exam on July 20th (have 4 more days to go but working full time job as well) or shall I take a new date (available July 26th, i will pay $70 more I guess)?

If I should go for 20th July then shall I keep taking more mock exams or study PMBOK once again and check my gaps or my notes?

You are doing fine.  Focus on the area where you have incorrect answers. Using PMBOK, Rita's book and research here.   Between the four tests there should be some patterns coming out, focus on them.  Would take just one more test either Rita's or the PMStudy.  Spend the rest of the time in review (EVs) and the problem areas.


You will do fine!  Continue on as if you cannot fail!

If you are getting above 70% in all mock tests then I would say you are ready for exam ..no need to postpone. My advice would be read PMBOK one more time before the exam and practice ITTOs once ..no need to memorize ..just go thru or write down once.

 Thanks guys!! I am reviewing my gaps and some I am able to correct them but I think the ITTO is the problem, I am bad at memory so I use logical analysis for them. May be i should write them once by hand ...as i see many people suggested that

And sometimes I am probably losing concentration in 4 hr mock exams!! I am able to complete exam in 3:30 hrs in general, and because they are mock exams I am not using the remaining time to review the questions..i shd do that more i guess and also take 5 min break as well

 I am using only PMBOK and RIta for books..probably tomorrow I will do 175 Qs of Oliver and then read PMBOK and i study my notes

Any more thoughts then do please share.

I know some people who took it in the last couple weeks. the ones who passed got over 75% (consistently) on the mock exams. The ones who failed were getting lower marks.

 Nish...so you recommend to attend exam once I get more than 75% in the mocks? I am kind of getting between 72 to 75%

 

Also I am not put my mock test results for which websites like couple of them quiet easy like pmprepare.com which had free 70 questions, where i scored 80% but I don't think I should count the easy ones.

No, I'm not saying that at all. I think you should take the exam when you feel that you are ready to take the exam. I just provided some feedback on other friends who have taken it recently. There is no silver bullet answer

I think the real issue here is your nervousness/anxiety over the exam. Trust me, I and many other people here get those same feelings.

Just be confident in your preparation and abilities.

 I am also taking exam on the 20th.  A little advice on the ITTOs - you are on the right track about writing them out.  You won't be able to memorize every last one of them but I have been doing the writing and it helps to have them visually stick in your head.  They can be tricky especially when multiple of them appear in several processes.  Risk and Procurement are the most difficult for me but if you know them in general and apply logic I think you should be fine.  Good Luck!

Hi,

 

Your mock test results show you are doing well. Do not postpone, as retaining the knwoledge at the same level over a period of time is also a concern, which you need to keep in mind.

 

You need to slowly reach the peak and appear for it, instead of lingering it for long. Read PMBOK one more time, and if possible give one more PMStudy test.

Don't get distracted by the mock exam scores , some did very well in mock test , but appear too over confidence & eventually failed.


My score are around your range before i appear for the exam , that is after taking a re-test on those mock exams i scored really low i.e. 65-68%.


Pertaining to the ITTO , if you don't hv photographic memories , don't even bother forcing to remember them , try to read & understand , trust me it will come back to you natually during exam. (i didn't memorize them at all) There is a ITTO game in 1 of the notes in PMzilla if i recall correctly, try to play the game a few times , perhaps that will help.

 THANKS EVERYONE for pushing me for the exam based on my mock scores i mentoned above

I CLEARED the exam just a hour back with 3Ps and 2 MPs ......I will write separate post with LLs....

Guys this is a big relief :)
