PMP Application Name Discrepancy

Hi all,

I have planned to take my exam within 3 weeks and currently have got my application approved from PMI and ready to go for payment.The application was filled out by the guys from the training center and they have missed a portion of my last name (which is in the ID).

I have heard when we schedule for the exam,we need to provide the IDs which will be brought for the exam.

So do you think I can mention the correct name during scheduling and get away with it??

Is there any rule that the name on the application should be same as that on the IDs to be brought for the exam??

Hello Chullan88,

I would suggest you to call the Prometric helpline number which is available for most of the countries and make sure that the correct name is registered. The numbers are available on the Prometric website.

It is clearly mentioned in the exam application that your name on the id and name in the application should match.

Last thing you want is to run into an issue on the exam day at the Pormetric center when you are already stressed due to the big exam..

I would agree. Peace of mind goes a long ways when you have a big test coming up. I know people who have taken the exam with a name John but their real legal name is Jonathan. No issues but I would prefer my legal name on my PMP certificate.
