PMIS - is it a T&T for 'Monitor and Control Project Work'?

I am trying to understand why PMIS is a T&T for 'Direct and Manage Project Execution' but not for 'Monitor and Control Project Work'

My understanding of a PMIS is a system that holds all the documents related to the Project. It's a central place to store all the "information" related to the Project.

And to me, information stored in the PMIS can be a tool for both 'Direct and Manage Project Execution' and 'Monitor and Control Project Work'. Can someone provide a clear distinction of why it's not a tool for 'Monitor and Control Project Work'?

Monitor and Control Project Work also have PMIS
PMBOK P.86

To answer your question, i think PMIS include the software like MS Project , LibreProject etc, it mainly use for control the schedule. (GANTT Chart)
