Procurement and WBS

Is there any scenario where you will provide a WBS when you are outsourcing some of the work ( Procurement).

 

What is the key things do you have to provide to contract some of the work ?

While outsourcing the work, I don't think you provide with WBS to the outsourcing team but you provide SOW that describes the complete details of the deliverables, assumptions, constraints etc.  Based on this SOW, the outsourcing team will then develop WBS specific for their deliverable that was outsourced for. They need to produce the deliverable and then hand it off to the buyer's project manager. Hope this helps.
