Passed PMP exam on May 28th

Hi All,

I passed the PMP exam on May 28th; I got 3P and 2 MP (Initiation & Closing).

My journey started on last November when my company provided the training for 36 hours and started to prepare for the certification in the month of January. Initially started with 3 more people who had similar aspirations and we shared thoughts on how to prepare, useful links and videos.

My preparation was daily 2 hrs a day, Read PMBOK fully and then Rita fully but gained better knowledge only when i read Rita and PMBOK parallel.  Took chapterwise tests from different sources whenever any particular knowledge area gets completed and used to revise again when the score is less.

Started to take full tests in the month of march and april from various sources like PMStudy, Oliver Lehman, HeadFirst and could get more than 65%. Decided and went ahead to book the exam on May 28th.

During the last month my main gap was remembering ITTOs, couldn't memorize but was able to understand when i started to think on why it is really used. I recommend everyone to review the data flow diagram in each processes that helps.

Bought PMZest questions for the final tests which was completely on ITTO and was able to get around 65-70% for around 7-8 tests, these exams were really tough and were able to close all the ITTO gaps by reviewing the answers.

During the final week of the exam i bought a headfirst book went over it once, it was a nice material after Rita with good visual presentations. My last 2 days was spent on revising ITTOs, noted knowledge gaps and going over the questions which i went wrong on all these days.

Real Exam:

Started nervously but gained momentum after completing 20 questions, took a break after 2 hrs and was able to complete with 10 minutes to spare. I didn't mark any question for review but read all the questions twice, visualized the answer and then saw the choices. Real exam pattern was a mix from all the sources, questions were lengthy and was close to Rita FastTrack.

I would like to thank my family, friends and also PMZilla forum for motivating me through the success stories.

Thanks, Prabhu
