Passed PMP on 12-April

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my Lessons Learnt and hope that it will be useful for new test takers.

I passed the PMP examination on 12-April with Proficient in all Process Groups and Moderately Proficient in Professional Responsibility.

I started studying for the examination on 21-Feb using Andy Crowe's book which helped me to understand the PMBOK flow of information. I generally tend to take written notes which help me to understand the concept well. I then also covered Rita's book for the additional concepts not mentioned in Andy's book. I really don't want to compare both of the books and may suggest you to go through them to get gist of concepts. With my PM knowledge and experience, I was sure to pass the exam. But I had aimed high not just to pass it, but pass it with good grade.

I also went through PMBOK which really helped me to understand the concepts clearly. I would request all new test takers to spend time in understanding the concepts rather than memorizing it. Most of the questions were tricky and I am sure, only memorizing the concepts wouldn't have helped. Let's agree that this is professional certification which expects future PM's to understand the concept and leverage them in day-to-day life and not just memorize them.
I had few direct questions asking to specify input/T&T and outputs.
I attempted following online practice exams which really helped me to understand the exam format -
pmstudy.com
examcentral.com
Andy's official Website - insite.velociteach.com

Last but not the least, I referred to PMP notes by Rajesh Nair and I must appreciate his efforts to consolidate important points all in one.

Spend quality time on exam preparation thinking from professional and PMI's point of view, and I am sure you will be able to pass the exam with flying colors.

Thanks and All the best for your exam...

God bless you,
~Sandeep

Congratulations Sandeep on your PMP. I agree Rajesh's notes have been very valuable for many people.
