Diff between Rita's book, 6th edition VS 7th edition?
Submitted by Caster on Wed, 04/04/2012 - 22:33
I am preparing for exam. So far I have gone through PMBOK.
I have Rita's 6th edition handy, how ever I would like to know review of 7th edition.
Is the new versiion really helf full ? How can it help us with this latest pattern of exam?
1) Appriciate your help and guidance here. I really do not want to study two version of same book. Rather I will stop reading 6th edition and buy new one.
2) Have any one has passed the latest new exam based on 6th version or Rita's book?
Thanks in advance.

There are only few changes
There are only few changes compared to 6th and 7th. I have both the versions. I have noticed few chapter questions and explanation to answers changed ( very few...)
I am also currently preparing for PMP. I guess 6th edition along with PMBOK should be fine.

Dont waste your time in this
Has PMBOK changed? Has PMI declared any change in PMP syllabus?
Of course no, then why do you need to buy a new book for the same study material?

I am preparing with Rita
I am preparing with Rita Mulcahy 6th edition and PMBOK 4th edition to take the exam before July 31, 2013.
Will 6th edition still work or should i go for 7th edition of Rita Mulcahy?
Thanks.

Maybe you are already
Maybe you are already aware:
In the 6th edition (2nd printing), I believe that there is a typographical error in one of the EAC formulas on page 242. The denominator is given as (Cum CPI + Cum SPI), when it should be (Cum CPI * Cum SPI).
Pls independently confirm this.

Caster, if you are using the
Caster, if you are using the Rita's PM Fastrak 6, then the complimentary reference must be the 6th edition, whereas, if you are using the FAstrack v7 then the complimentary reference is the 7th edition.
Rita's Book and fastrack products are good, contrary to some says. In fact, Rita was an internationally recognized expert in project management and was once a reviewer of the PMBOK. so i can say, her book as well as the fastrack simulation is reliable more than others.
