CAPM - Is it Worth it?

Hello all PMP guru’s -

I’m new to this forum and wanted your expert opinion on CAPM credentials.  After preparing for PMP for almost a year, I’m planning to go for CAPM certification. I always wanted to go for PMP, but after failing one attempt I’m feeling defeated and lost.  In order to regain my confidence and add credibility to my resume I want to go for CAPM credentials.  However, I’m not sure how much value it has in the market? Is it really worth it vs. PMP? Or should I skip it altogether and prepare for few more months and go for PMP?  Can any CAPM/PMP credentials holder assist me.  I don’t want to waste my energy and resources in something which has a dead end.

Doing CAPM is not an option in my opinion. You should wait for sometime, then start again. Take mock tests from reputed sources, then if you get good scores, you know you are ready.

PMP is a combination of theoratical and practical knowledge. Few questions in exam will be simple common sense.  So try to get your arms around all PMBoK topics , there is no need to waste money in CAPM.
