Which of the following is not accurate about the initial phase of a project?

  1. The highest uncertainty is at this stage of the project

  2. The cost associated at the beginning of the project is highest

  3. Stakeholders have maximum influence during this phase

  4. Staffing levels are the highest at this stage

picked D answer is B. I think pmbok states cost of change at begining of project is minimum.

For the first question, the question is asking about accuracy, hence it is the cost.

For second question, it is option C as you need to plan your procurement. 

Options 1 and 4 are eliminated as wrong choices

Option 2 can be defined only after collecting the requirements and defining the scope and WBS.

In case of question no. 1. .. They are asking for which is not accurate and the "The cost associated at the beginning of the project is highest" is logically false.

but staffing level is highest in execution stage. is he talking of stakeholders or project staff.

Hey ... Yeah I too have the same doubt, even  staffing levels are the highest at the execution stage / middle of the project right?

I understand B is definitely wrong. I would like to know how you eliminated this answer choice.

Just go through the Figure 2-8 on page 39 of PMBOK. The Y axis of the figure clearly shows that Cost and Staffling Level are the lowest in the beginning. 

On top of that, activity resources estimates and activity cost estimates are tied together. 

Therefore, B and D both are incorrect statement. 

Hence, the correct answer can be either B or D.

Answer is either B or D.   But, we need to select which one is more weightage.

Regarding B :  On first looking lot of people thinks that this choice B stating  about the ROM estimate cost of the project.  Anyway the ROM is High in the intial Phase.  Then skips this chioce and selects Answer D.   Whereas actually a lot of Human Resource, Resource Material and Outsourced Contracts all come into picture in excecuting process.  Ultimately the project cost is greater than Staffing Level.

Example : Construction Project, Building AirPort and etc.

 

Regarding D: Staffing levels are Highest in this stage.  Compare to above this one is lesser.
