One more question...
All,
The tests on PMP exam always tells me that "Dude, read each and every questions V V carefully, else in spite of knowing the answer, you may be incorrect.'
This is exactly what happened to me 10 minutes back. I got the answer to a supposedly easy question wrong because I did not read the question promptly and here goes the question:
Q::: Which of the following statements is UNTRUE about the rolling-wave planning technique?
(A) It subdivides the project work package into smaller components called activities
(B) It is a form of progressive elaboration in which future work is planned at a higher level of the WBS
(C) It decomposes work packages to a milestone level where information is less defined
(D) It decomposes work packages into activities as more becomes known about upcoming activities.
Warmly, KK...

OMG . It tricked me. I
OMG . It tricked me.
but I am not convinced why option C is Not UNTRUE. Defination of WP is some thing like this.
Work package can be a deliverable or work component at the lowest level of each branch of the WBS. This is the point at which cost and activity duration of the work can be reliably estimated and managed.
When we do not have enough information can we call that a Work Package?
Can some one explain Please? It would help me.

Oh yes...
Oh yes, this was again the archetypal PMP question and their motto is into tricking people.
" RWP is a form of Progr Elabrtion in which the work to be accomplished in the near term is planned in detail and future work is planned at the higher level of the WBS, until more information becomes known. It subdivides work packages into smaller components called activities".
The confusion here is Ravi that the option A is straight away giving the definition of RWP which incidentally is an iterative process and happens gradually. This is their job. Of tricking people :) and they are incidenatlly doing a very good job in that.
