Passed 12/21/12 on first attempt!

All,

I am happy to report I passed my pmp exam today with the following:

Initiated - P
Planning - MP
Execution - P
M&C - MP
Closing - MP

I have been a silent reader of PMZilla which has been SO encouraging and helpful along my journey.

I had grave concerns when I was only making 70's on my mock exams but saw many others were successful on the exam.

My Exam preparation: (Three months)

1. Read Rita Mulcahy's PMP exam book - read this twice.

2. Headfirst - This book really helped provide scenarios to help you understand the concepts in areas where I needed some help.

3. BMBOK_Guide-Fourth_Ed - Read this material once thoroughly, then referenced when I misunderstood information from the other sources.

4. Used all 3 to evaluate questions I got wrong in the practice test (very critical).

5. I memorized all 42 processes and all formulas.  Did not memorize ITTO's.

5. Executed many mock up tests

  • PMStudy 1 (free) - 64% (I rushed through instead of taking the time it deserved)

  • PMStudy 2 ($25) - 75%

  • Headfirst (free) - 79%

I want to take a moment to thank everyone at PMZilla for the encouragement and lessons learned posts.
Another shout out to my husband and son who took on all the household responsibilities while I studied for countless hours.

Sincerely,

Robin Duncan, PMP
