Passed PM in First attempt - :-)

Hello Friends :

Thanks to all my predecessors who have helped guided and posted the links for taking mock tests !!!

I have passed PMP today and really very happy. It took me around 2.5 months effort and almost 2 hours a day. First I started reading Rita's book and later I read on PMBOK5.

Mock Tests helped me a lot in managing time and also clearing up loads of concept. I have taken tests from the following sites :

1. Exam Central - http://www.examcentral.net/pmp/members.php - pls expect harder questions. But good for early practice test knowledge area wise.

2. http://free.pm-exam-simulator.com/

3.http://free-pm-exam-questions.com/

4.http://www.ebrahma.com/project-management-professional-pmp-practice-exam...

5.http://www.skillsign.com/individual/test/loginRequired

6.http://www.oliverlehmann.com/pmp-self-test/75-free-questions.htm

7.http://headfirstlabs.com/PMP/free_exam/

8.http://206-free-pmp-exam-questions.blogspot.com/

9.http://www.pmpforsure.com/pmp/

10 .http://www.edwelprograms.com/Free-PMP-Practice-Exam.aspx

11.http://www.pmstudy.com/ - The best one.

Also I downloaded the PMP formulae and Tips - Cheat Sheet of Anil Tanguturi from this forum which helped me in organizing the formulas.

For friends who scored less in the mock test or scoring consistently less pls don't loose your heart. It means it need more reading knowledge area wise. My request will be to go back to the chapters read them once again thoroughly and re-take the mock tests.

I even scored less too.. it is a tough journey but not at all impossible.. pls remember practice will make you perfect !!!

All the best,

Hi Pooja

Hi Pooja,

I am starting with preparations for PMP, wanted to know the version of Rita you referred for preparation. Also, apart from Rita & PMBoK and these mock tests did you refer to some other books too?

Thanks,

Shweta

Hi Pooja,

Please share you scores for all mocks you took.

Regards!

Yes I missed the scores.. giving my scores :

1. Rita knowledge area wise test - after 1st reading 60-70%

2. First full length mock test in PM study - 59.9% - was terribly disappointed and frustrated.

3. Full length test from PMP for sure - 55% :-((

4. Revisited Rita's book and PMBOK5 guide once again and have done all the questions knowledge area wise and this time scored more than 88 to 90%.

Once you are confident now start the full length exams.

5. Full length mock test - 72%

6. PM Study.com test 78%

7. Other full length mock test were ranging all around 72 to 78%.

Tried at least 5 full length exams and multiple 50 questions.

When I was consistently scoring around 72-75% I got my confidence and was ready to take the test.

Hope my scores will help!!!!

Plz share your email for discussion if its ok with you...I have my test on 11th Oct..!

   Dear Friend,

Congrats and thanks for sharing LL.

Regards,

Vishwanath

 Congratulations !

I have referred to Rita's 7th edition but it does not have latest additions and updates. Also I have referred to PMBOK5 guide thoroughly. Take tests as many as possible :-)

thanks a lot.
