passed PMP on 19

On 01/19/2010 I passed PMP. I reached one hour before schedule time and prometric staff was good to check me in soon.
I prepared two and half month for the exam.

I bought pmbok and Rita's book for preparation. Read pmbok once and Rita twice.
And reviewed Rita's book again before the test. Practiced free questions from pmzilla, pmhumb,
pmstudy and other site mentioned here before. Also made good understanding of ITTO.

During the test I found not many questions where these with more than 4 lines.
Two or three questions took more than four minutes to answer but next few questions
took only 10 seconds to answer.

I was surprised when I saw AOA in place to PDM to calculate float. I took full four
hours to complete the test with only ten minutes for review.
There were lot of questions on ITTO and understanding of this is must.

For some questions first two sentences explains different from what actual question want to ask.

Hope this helps candidates for the test.

I used the PMBOK 4th edition and Rita Mulcahy's PMP Prep book.  As others have noted, I read the PMBOK in detail once, then referenced as needed while reading Rita's.  I read Rita's book 2 - 3 times.  I passed on my first try.  I put a lot of effort into the test preparation. I copied the flashcards from Rita's book and used those to study during my lunch break or late evenings.  I answered a ton of questions via Rita and PMZilla.  I cancelled my exam too many times to count - really.

My advice, study until you feel you are totally prepared.  Ensure you understand all the concepts, memorize your formulas.  In regards to ITTO's, I followed Rita's advice, I did not memorize the information.  I did make an effort to study the ITTO's in the week before the exam and memorized the Quality ITTO's just because that was an area of weakness for me.

The exam center was a nightmare for me - the person next to me was required to type (non-stop) for their exam and they banged on the keyboard for the first 40 minutes.  Ear phones were provided and did not help me at all.  I'm not sure if they allow you to pick your seat, but they do not allow changes once you are seated.  I actually ran out of time trying to go back and answer questions that I marked for review during the 1st 40 mins of the exam.

Good luck to all future PMP's!
