Passed PMP - 1st Attempt - Lessons Learned

I passed the PMP on 03 July 2010 and would like to share what helped:

1)      Used PM PrepCast for 35 Contact Hours - The best value for the $$

2)      Studied entire Andy Crowe book - Best study guide I found

3)      Studied PMBOK Glossary only

4)      Studied Rita’s PMI-isms only

5)      Did the Earned Value/PDM exercises from HeadFirst book

6)      Used Rita’s Fastrack Exam Simulator (v.6.01) - This is the BEST one but it is overpriced.

7)      Memorized Page 43 of PMBOK

DON’T:

1)      Spend a lot of time memorizing formulas other than Earned Value

2)      Try to memorize all of the 500+ ITTO’s

3)      Buy a PMP training resource  if you can borrow from someone else
