important advice
I dont have much to add to all lessons leanred from previous successfull pmp test takers. But here are few important points
Be prepared to give test in relatively uncomfortable sitting style.Monitor provided to me had its base, which almost covered all available desk space and i did not even have proper space ( space enough) to keep my scratch papers .I had to create space on left side of monitor and use that.
Also proctor won't allow me to reduce the height ( adjustable height) of my monitor.I had to look up( literally ) so that my neck was always tilted in position that i was looking at a 12 stored building top, just to read the question.
Other test takers kept going in and out and proctors were loud.I had to use ear muffs and on top of that noise cancelling ear phones ( provided by center ).
The pmi has changed its strategy. I prepared too hard and complex questions but actuall questions on exam were very easy. Very basic in comparision to preparation i did.
Do not take paid mock exams.Exam on real pmp exam are NEVER similar to any mock you take. You my feel some similarity but never the same.
Wear half sleeves shirt. if you wear full sleeves shirt, do not fold it up to elbows , because they will repeatedly ask you to remove all folds to check if you are cheating .Same with lower folds on jeans and socks.
Calculator will be embedded and not provided by center.
my 1st 100 questions were very easy, so easy that i thought of taking 5 minutes break to clear mental fog. but this proved fatal. The next 100 questions were 4-5 times tougher and difficult to undersytand what they were asking. this took lot of time just understanding multiple lines questions and multiple lines answsers. I really had to pace to keep up.
Most important advice:
After 150 questions, be careful and keep watch on clock. If yuou are not completeing 55 questions per hour, you will most likely have a balance of 40-50 questions with just 12-15 minutes remaining which was my case.I was scared and thought would not clear pmp just because of time mismanagement. But I did not panic and kept my cool. This is where my mock exams helped me. I just focused on current question and answered it to best of my ability with goal of answering all 200 questions.I was successful in this.
Then i was taken though survery and then congrats screen appeared. Which i celebrated by eating remainder of my chocolate
Best of luck always

Passed the second time around :)
I would like to share my experince since I have been a visitor here since last month without commenting . I failed the first attempt and obviously wanted to get questions to practice , fill the knowledge gaps and most importantly build up the courage to take the next exam date. So I came across pmzilla.
My expericence and lessons learnt
Read PmBok!! ( I only started reading it after the first the failed attempt . Did not not have enough time to finish it , so read Execution and Initiation processes (yes I was below profient in initiation). Read the processes falling under the domains and re read Rita.
Do a lot of sample test questions ( from valid souces, Rita, Oliver, Heldman , PM Zilla, etc do not try the dumps as they can actually confuse you and do not give explanations..
For the first attempt I only did 1 mock test once from Rita 7th ( scored 74.5 ) but did not finish all the questions so it only calculates based on the questions you have attempted.
This i think was the primary reason I failed the first time . THERE WAS NO TIME LEFT and I still had 30 plus questions left .
So study plan , UNDERSTAND the processes and practitces. I did not memorize ITTO, Do"Tricks of the trade" and the Exercises in Rita. Someone on PMzilla mentioned to read atleast the glossary of PmBok and since i did not have the time to read the book , This helped a lot.
Did 3 mock tests before the exam.Rita and Heldman. Worked on my SPEED.
Second time around, March 3rd , got the brain dump in the first 15 minutes for formulas and processes., sigma values, Quality authors, Deming, Crosby what they preached, Herzberg Hygiene etc ( anything you are unsure about ).
I would say both the times I have about 20-25 questions on earned value. Rest were situational.
First 100 questions took the most time ... I was left with about 1 hour 20 minutes for the remainder .. Decided against the break ... and completed the last question in the last minute. Was certain on all the choices I made ( although I could have been wrong ofcourse) but did not plan on reviewing them so took my time when I chose an option .
Anywayssssss .... evaluation .... and then the result .... seeing that Congratulations..... was priceless ( specially after failing the first time ).
Thats it from me . Best of luck to everyone .... and also thanks to all the contributors
Warm Regards
Irfan
