Passed PMP in first attempt

 Hi,

I cleared PMP in my first attempt today with Moderately Proficient in all the process groups. I regret of not getting single proficient but I did not get any below proficient either :-).

Thx all on PM Zilla community for the great help.. You all made my exam preparation so organized and I was feeling prepared before I gave the exam.

I would like  to share my thought to the PMP.

I finished my exam in 2 hour 10 mins. I got very tricky questions on Ground rules,Quality,Risk,Procurement etc. The PMP exam iself is tricky but easy. I'd marked 30 questions and I did not change most of my answers.

What helped

1) PMBOK

2) Free mock exams

        pmstudy.com

       examcentral.net

       Oliver Lehmann's 75 and 175 questions

 3) Actual Experience

4) Taking the actual exam

What  did not help

1) Brain dump

I did create a brain dump as per standard for formulaes etc but I never looked at them during the exam. In my opinion this is the risk mitigation strategy for the people who think it is high probability if they forget something during the exam.

2) Mugging up ITTO : I did not try to mug up ITTO. It does not help.In my opinion it is transfer of risk. :-)

 My thoughts

Be brave and take the exam as procrastination increases your probablity of failing in the exam. I wasted last seven months on deciding the date for the exam after completing my class for 35 hours PDU. 8-10 weeks of adequate preparation is enough along with mock exams mentioned above. Scheduling the date for the exam helps and keeps you motivated towards the goal.

Thx once again for all the help.. Hope my LL would help some PMP aspirants.

Thx and regards,

MAK
