Passed PMP in first try on 25-Aug-11 :)

I was waiting to write this on this forum. Finally mission accomplised. :)

The PMP exam is easy but it should not be taken lightly.

My scores are:-

Initiating, Planning, Executing, M&C -> Proficient

Closing, P&S Resp -> Moderately Proficient

Below are my Lessons Learned :-

(1) Don't go for many courses or books. I read PMBOK and Rita. I read both books twice and referred it whenever necessary.

(2) Rita Fastrack was very useful in understanding the pattern of the question. The difficulty level in Fastrack is high compared to real PMP exam, but it will make you feel easy in the exam center.

(3) Go for at least 5 full simulation tests. And analyse each wrong question in detail, it will help u find your gaps. I took below tests:-

  • Rita PMFastrack
  • SimpliLearn (I liked it, very close to real exam. I even took its 2 paid test)
  • PMStudy
  • Exam central
  • Headfirst lab

My scores in these simulation tests are very near to the real exam score. Definitely it can help u in self-assessment.

(4) ITTO is a must thing. There were around 10-15 question on it. brainbok is a good site for it.

(5)  This forum was very helpful in clearing my doubts.

Thank you all guys.
