PMP Cleared July 12th 2014 - 10 days

CLEARED PMP!!! On July 12 2014.
Yesterday I have Cleared PMP here are the Results on yesterday’s Attempt.
Yesterday (PASS)
Planning & Execution & closing – MP (3)
Initiation & (Monitor & Control) – BP. (2)
Here is my preparation.
10 Days preparation.
Materials used: Pmstudy Material (just to get points and tips to remember and PMBOK (this book which I studied 4 times every page and main reason I passed the exam.)
6 Days (8 hours * 6days = 48 hours)
Every day (8 hours spent) 2 Chapters with notes preparation. (I studied the chapter in pmbok once completed looked into the material of pmstudy on that chapter and prepared notes with both pmbok and pmstudy.
Registered for 150 $ pmstudy online course and took 50 questions after each Knowledge area.
Noted wrong question numbers and some of the tricky question which were correct. (Most of the KA’s test I was able to score 85 % + except couple 65 % and 68%
Covered all the chapters in 6 days with my own notes.
Day 7 - revised all the chapters. (10 hours PMBOK + pmstudy material + my material).
Day 8 – Attempted full length test from pmstudy and scored 82.5 %.( took 2.15 hours to complete full test. Looked in to marked answers and questions which I changed (noted changed answers and Question numbers. Later realized that I should leave it as first selected choice as changed answers after review were incorrect. (NOTE: I used the same strategy for the Main exam as well)
(It was true from some blocks that if we get scores of early 80% in pmstudy you are good for exam.)
Day 9 – Revised all the wrongly answered chapters question + some of them which although were correct but tricky (remember 50 q per KA) and wrong answers from the full length test. There were around 175 question from chapter’s revision and 45 Questions from full length test.
This itself is a second full length test as it has more than 200 questions.
I went through each and every question and identified correct answers and justification. Most important is that for the rest of the 3 wrong answers looked into justifications why they were wrong.
220 Questions with each question and justification so that I can understand (it took 8 hours)this phase was very important as I believe this was one of the reasons I cleared the exam.

Day 10 - Revised all the chapters same as Day 8. Started morning 7:30 AM and finished by Evening 6 PM.Had a good night sleep.
Exam Day – Day 11 Exam: 12:30 PM
Woke up morning at 5:30 and revised (Day 10 + ITTO) till 11: 30 AM.
Reached exam center at 12: 10.
Skimmed through the note I wrote in 20 minutes.
Entered exam hall at 12: 31 PM.
EXAM PREGRESS (duration of exam 4 hrs. – 200 Q
20 Questions 25 minutes
50 Questions 70 minutes (took break every 50 Q – 2minutes).
100 Questions - 2 hours 15 Minutes. (I was tensed took a break 2 minutes).
170 Questions -34 minutes (I took a break now instead of 50 questions as time as not sufficient but breaks are important to calm yourself).
Last 14 Questions – 19 Minutes.
Last 7 Questions – 14 minutes.
Last 4 Questions - 8 minutes.
Last 1 Question – 3 Minutes.

Completed and click on full question review and realized that 2 question were marked incomplete which I thought I clicked the option. So quickly went to those question and answered the multiple choice questions.
Time left 50 Seconds to end the exam.
Prayed to GOD.
27 seconds left and clicked on End exam.
Survey - answered the survey to deviate my mind and cool myself but I can hear my heart beat clearly.
Finished Survey.
Screen went blank and came up “CONGRATULATION PASSED PMP”
Thank you to all of you once again as I was a silent reader of pmzilla.

Congratulations on your PMP, Vinay!

Thank you for your wishes.

Vinay

Wow.. Cleared in 10 days! Good for you.. It took me 4 months to clear (eventhough around 2-3hrs per day of study because of work and kids).. Enjoy!

Alex - its same amount of time it took for me but only difference was that it was straight 80 hours for me and same 80 hours for you spanning across 4 months 2-3 hours per day.

clearing in 4 months is more difficult than clearing in straight 10 days.

Congratulations!!!

Vinay
