PMP Courses - 5 Full Days vs. 3 Months part time.

HI everyone

I am busy comparing a 5 day full time PMP Prep course vs. a 3 month part time course.  I am looking for some feedback from anyone who has done a 5 day course. both have pre work (the process groups) and both recommend 350 hours of self study.

  1. - Would you recomemend doing a 5 day intense course?
  2. - How did you cope with the quanity of infromation you had to absorb in the 5 days
  3.  -Would you have prefered to have spread it out?

5 day course (you need to do 12 hours of prework going thorugh the proces groups - then 4 full days going through 11 knowledge ares and then 6-8 weeks later -  1 full day exam prep)

3 month course - 3 full days pre work (lectured) going thorugh the process gorups - then 11 evening sessions (1 per week about 3-4 hours each) going through each knowledge area includes assingments- 1 full day exam prep

Both courses are with the same training house, the 5 day is cheaper than the 3 month one. However you get all of the same study material.

Aprreciate any advice :)

Personally, i would prefer the 5 day course. Reason being, no matter how long you are trained,  much of the preparation comes from self study. The training is important just to get ourselves geared up for the examination. Also the more the no of days the course spans, the higher the chance of losing focus. So better to get an idea of how to approach for the exam from the training and then put all your energy into self study.

Hi Sara,

I agree with what VinC said...when the duration is lesser, you tend to focus sharply. I would thus suggest you to enroll for a 4 or 5 days course rather than a 3 months program.
