PMP exam changes and when to take the exam

Hi All,

I heard that there will be some changes in PMP exam and better to take the exam by Septemeber 2015.

Should I take the exam before November 1st, because I heard the new changes will only by November 1st onwards.

Could you please help me with this ?

Hi Sanju,

An accomplished Role Delineation Study (RDS) has updated description of the project management professional role. The study included the survey of PMP credentials holders to certify updates to domains, tasks, knowledge, and skills. The RDS captures the outlook of project management practitioners from all organizations and it performs all the duties regarding PMP exam and certifies its validity.

How the PMP is altered?

The five domains for the PMP exam remains same. In spite of that the tasks with each domain have been changed. The prevailing exam will be active till 1 November 2015, after November 1 only the new pattern of exam will be conducted.

Note: November 1, 2015 is the last date to test under prevailing version of PMP.

In April of 2015, PMI announced that they would use their recently completed Role Delineation Study (a document that provides an updated description of the project manager role) to make slight changes to the PMP Exam Content Outline. As with the PMI-ACP exam, the changes themselves will be VERY MINOR. The five domains of practice for the PMP exam will remain the same, but a few tasks (only 8, to be exact) within each domain have been modified, added, or removed. Again, to repeat this—the upcoming “changes” to the PMP Exam include the addition of only EIGHT NEW TASKS. And that is literally it. Anyone who does not believe this, or has heard otherwise, may visit this link:

The timeline is also very simple: the existing exam will be administered until November 1st, and on November 2nd PMI will switch to the “updated” exam.

Yes, PMI announced that there will be certain changes to the overall PMP Exam. The PMBOK v5 still remains active but the content will be altered starting 1st Nov 2015.

You can find all the details here: http://thewisdompearls.com/pmp-exam-changes/

As far as your question goes, if you think you have time between now and end of September you might as well prepare and take the exam to get certified. If you need help coming up with a study plan or preparing for the exam you can refer to this post: http://thewisdompearls.com/best-tips-to-pass-the-pmp-exam/ ... Hope this helps!

Good Luck!
