PMP examination
Dear All:
I have started my preparation around last week of July '13 and with in 12 days I can confidently cover the topics once in PMBOK PMP 5th edn and now in the annuxes. My exam pass percentage is avg to 50-60% (I have just given few mock q's not more than 50 questions because doesn't want to get carried away without any basic understading)
My PMP class room training is from 19th - 23rd August '13 (Thanks to Barclays for providing it) and planning to take the exam by Oct '13 or Nov '13 (Just want to freeze on a date after the training) and I can afford 2 hrs a day and 10 hours the weekend (20 hours a week). Would you think it will be sufficient to take an exam by Oct '13?
My plan is to cover PMP 5th edn 2 more times, Rita 8th edn - 2 times, listen to audio book of Kim twice. Planning as many mock exams as possible and not decided on a firm plan on the mock test yet!
What would be your recommendation? Kindly advise me.
My fear is not on the failure towards the examination (Does matter but doesn't bother me 100% today) but I want to be more realistic on the timelines and doesn't need to rush (But I feel that is the risk and one can lose the game if one want to wait very long!)
Suggest your idea
Regards,
Sriram.

My Thoughts
I think your plan looks good...here are my tips (even though i cleared on July 20th PMBOK4 but should be valid)
- I would suggest that you plan for reading 3 times instead of 2 times, as I read this in many books and forums and I think it is true that 3 times is good for concepts to sink into our brains
- Selection of mock tests would be very important as well - I would go with Oliver, Simplilearn free exams and PMStudy paid exams all four of them
- After every mock exam of 4 hrs you complete, make sure you find your gaps and re-read your weak areas and give the next mock exam. This way you will get prepared very well, I did the same
- Initially you can do 50 or 100 questions after 1st round of reading but after 2 round of reading start giving 4 hrs exams as it should give you good idea where you stand and also help you build patience and time mgmt for exam
- I did my last round of reading 2 days before exam and I did not give any exam one day before exam, I used it for reading my notes. I would adivse that you write your own notes from the books you are reading and use them for last 2 days before exam
- I used ITTO game on iphone which helped me as well..its around $4..I think...
- I think when you start scoring around 75% or more you will start feeling confident for exam and also every mock exam if you get better percentage then it is good measure for your preparation as well
All the best...

Plan prep looks good
I would suggest you take as many mock exams as possible
At least 1000-1500 questions
