PMP - Where to start?

Hi all,

 

I have just been approved to take my PMP.  My question now is, where do I start? What books do I need to read from the beginning to the end.  I am basically looking for someone to assist me in the study material. What books to read in what order, when to practice the exam prep questions etc.  Any help will be much appreciated.

start by browsing this forum and reading lessons learned from the countless people who have passed the PMP exam and you will get a lot of valubale advice.

I suggest reading Rita's book first (8th edition), then read PMBOK (5th edition).  take a practice test and see where your knowledge gaps are.

Best practices suggest that when you read a book three times you will throughly understand it so plan on reading Rita and the PMBOK three times.

Finally, take as many practice exams from as many different sources as possible. 

Good luck and don't underestimate how tough the PMP exam is.
