Need some more info on understanding Attribute Sampling Vs Variables Sampling.

As per Andy Crowe book In Attribute Sampling a batch of product will be inspected and it would either fail or pass that inspection whereas in Variable Sampling the batch of product would be rated on a continuous scale.
