Result of 1st Mock Test of 200 Qs...

Good Evening SS,

Hope you are doing very well.

I just took a test of 200 questions on TechFaq. I took this test after taking a leaf out of Zephyr's LLs.

SS, I scored 167/200 or 83%. I performed extremely bad on PProcurementM and scored a meagre 55% :(..

Rest was fine and surprisingly I got 90% in Risk :). I got 100% on all ITTOs related questions.

I remember what Diba said in his LLs, sitting and taking the test of 200 questions is itself a challenge. Agree. I remember Sir when I was taking my 1st fateful attempt, I got fed up after 60-70 questions, took fag break and still could not concentrate much. However, this could also be attributed to the fact that I was not very sure of the Qs&As. People not knowing an inch on page 43 is taking PMP test. Wow!

Mind you SS, people talk about reading PMBOK 2-3 times and believe you me after 25 pages I have put it aside. Knowing it is the Bible, will pick it up again. Hobson's choice, as they say! Or the price one has to pay, the project incentive, may be :) :) :)

There are so many other things which I want to discuss with you which cant be put on a public forum. I thought of asking your personal email id, but was not sure if you would want to part with it. Anyway, just in case you think ok, let me help this failure then kindly mark a mail to me on krantikumarpmp@gmail.com

Warmly, KK....

You have secured overall 83% that is good. Did you see the percentage process group wise, because that is going to decide the PMP result?

Taking 200 questions is said to be one key factor for passing PMP exam….I completely ignore this fact. Common, PMP exam is for people who are eligible to become project manager. Do you think sitting for 4 hours (where you can take short break) is a challenge? See yourself, have you not worked for 20 hours continuously ever in your career so far? Of course you should have, right? If you can work continuously for 20 hours, why you cannot sit in exam for 4 hours then?
In short, these are all disease talks, that people have genetically carried over period of time and no one questions them.

I have been part of Psychometric and Human behavior based training. I see NO VALUE in practicing mock test of 200 questions because:

When you are at home, and try to give a 4 hour mock test, you will start yawning after 2 hours for sure.
What did you achieve here – first 100 questions that you read and concentrated on.
What did you loose here – last 100 questions, that you did not even dare to read properly.
Biggest loss – After 4 hours of exam, you have NO interest to read the explanation of the wrong answers (this is the BIGGEST loss) and the biggest motive for the practice test question is LOST.

Hence, I advice, practice 50 questions daily, you will have higher concentrations and the value it will add because of your energy and interest will be very high.

People and expert can ask here, if a person cannot concentrate on mock test for 4 hours, how can he/she can sit in the PMP exam? I have a simple answer, its because its an exam (atmosphere) and psychologically you know you have to sit and pass otherwise you know the consequence.

About PMBOK, I agree PMBOK has not been made readers friendly and that’s the beauty. Do not read PMBOK in one go, the best way is, read a section from some good reference book and then read the same section from PMBOK. This way you will find it interesting.

Yes, SS. You are correct. After completing the test, it become little too much to go through the explanations of the wrong answers. Ideally, practicing 50 questiosn everyday sounds a perfect idea. Unless one goes through the explanations of the wrong questions, no point in doing the test.

In the meantime, I am sending the link where the result of my test would  be displayed. Except PPM (50percent), the result, overall, was okay.

Hi SS,

Look at the importance of solving 50-100 questions. I just solved Test # 5 from pmpforsure.com and scored 71% or pass and with P in 3, MP in 1 (Initiation) but BP in 1 (Execution). Final result is pass.

It means I had 29 questions wrong and now I could easily review especially the wrong ones.

Solving lesser questions helps the sustainbility factor. As they say, short and succint. Thanks a ton for the very healthy and robust suggestion.

Warm regards, KK :) :) :)
