Second Attempt PASS

Dear All,

1.      First of all I would like to thank my parents , Lord Shiva ,Saraswati ma ,my Kaalima and Narayan bhagwan  and of course my wife and  my two  kids who really suffered  for  last four  weeks. Also, I really want to thank Schaumburg public library who gave me real study atmosphere and all my friends who always provoke me to be PMP.

With Spirituality and dedication power I believe anyone can achieve anything.

About Myself

My Experience as a Project manager is more than eight years in small company with no project manager methodology. While preparing for it I was learning a lot and always connecting with my job. I really liked reading    PM is responsible for everything in the project if something goes wrong its PM responsibility I use to laugh at it but it is true we are the pointed fingers for all the blames even though we don’t own it.

Why and How I failed first attempt

I underestimated PMP exam and prepare  for  only two weeks and I thought I am  ready for it I gave my exam on 11th October and I got 5BP….I was not able to complete the exam I was behind  35-40 question and which at the end I randomly clicked it…Result Failed

I was not happy but did not lose hope and accepted that It was my mistake that I did not prepared it well and thorough.

Regarding Exam

After second attempt  I can say exam  is not difficult at all. Just need to understand how the process flow…as this time also I gave two extra weeks from last time.

I am no different like all other aspirant PMP’s here as at this stage of life where we have already seen so many up’s and down . If you are here at this stage you can  really do this with little efforts.

Second Attempt Study Plan

I started my studies on 11th February  with Rita  edition 7 but this book did not fall in my criteria but yes the questions of rita are good for brain muscle which you need it for sure. I think PMBOK is the key you need to read don’t worry if you don’t understand anything. Highlight important points and write comments in your own language.

Also, I printed following pages from PMBOOK  fourth edition 73,104,131,167,191,217,244,274,and 314….I agree with most of the  friends here you don’t have to memorize it but if you keep this page in your car and in your hand when you go out  and get a chance  just read it…..

And when you don’t have paper with you try to recall ok Scope what I do first Collect requirements…. What technique I can use it… Trust me anybody can do this.

The reason you do this eventually you will see you are correlating them also if you can  print the flow chart of each processes also…… Like Ok Direct and Manage Project Execution (Not Executing I am talking about Integration Knowledge areas) giving me deliverables and then from here it goes to Quality control to get Validation…Hmm Wow then I saw quality control is getting Approved Change order from Perform Integrated Change control for Validation also…..Then I realize in Verify Scope in Scope Management we get Validated Deliverables as input so finally they can get accepted by customer…..

I thought than similar to this Direct and Manage project execution should have Validated Approved change request as input and  is output from Quality control……

I bought Pmstudy 4 test and I was getting between 72-78 but I did not believe in this score as 5-10% were repeated question……Also, I made some hand written notes which I will upload soon.

Exam Day March 09 2013

Day before I studied till 9.00 PM and then slept early. I woke up at 3.00 AM in the morning and did some revision. Its 4.00 AM I did mediation and  prayers as its best time for prayers(Brham Mahurat). I studied again till 6.00 AM and then left the house at 7.00AM for 8.00 Exam. As we always follow the crowd I did same brain dump page 43 and some formulas. I was little nervous and in brain dump I made a mistake I exchanged Monitoring and control with execution but I realized it shortly. Soon I click on the exam and the first question pop up which I really had no clue but this time I did not fall into the trap I marked it and keep moving. I completed the exam 30minutes before and  in the remaining time I reviewed which really help me  in correcting few question. At the end  I did the survey and then finally black out and then congratulation!!!!!

I thank all my elders and god for helping me as for four week I studied over 15 hours a day. Which I was surprise myself as I left my studies 12 years ago. But honest efforts always pay

Guys all my best wishes are with you and God Bless you all

Always Best Wishes,

Veer
