Hi
I am planning to take up the PMP certification this year. I heard that the PMBOK 's current version is 4th and would be chaging to 5th soon. Does anyone has inputs on this since I do not want to prepare on an older PMBOK version.
Also I unedrstand the sequence of preration from my friends as follows:
1. PMBOK with Rita
2.Attend the contact classed for the 35 PDU for exam
3. After proficiency with this apply for the exam
Is this sequence correct?
Please advice
Regards
Karthik

Hearing and believing is different thing. We keep hearing lots of things around, but do we accept all?
PMI is very professional institute. The exam pattern was changed from 31-Aug-2011 and PMI informed this one year before.
Has PMI officially said the new date for the new book version? The answer is NO, so why are you putting your precious brain in thinking for things that you hear? Just read PMBok 4th edition for now, even if its changed PMI would will keep the PMP exam with questions from 4th edition at least for 1 year (as per past records).
Your reading sequence is right in case you pass the PMP. Keep in mind there is no fix process to pass the exam. Just believe in you and have confidence. 90% of PMp questions are situational. PMI does not reveal its question and its right answer. So what ever you read, hear and see is the person/author perception. You will never know what is the right answer PMI would look for.
