Rita Mulcahy 6th or 7th edition
Submitted by ssrikk on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 00:14
I have a Rita Mulcahy - 6th edition which I bought last year befor PMI changed the syllabus. I am planning to take my exam in May of this year. Can anyone suggest me if 6th edition is still good for current syllabus or should I spend additional 90 $ and get the 7th edition?

6th is fine.
Question seems to be pretty common. I shall say stick to 6th edition, as I myself studied 6th edition and did just fine.
Read 6th Edition cover to cover, supplement it with PMBOK and you gonna be fine. As a matter of fact, 7th Edition is not authored by Rita, RIP Rita, she passed away in May 2010.

PMP exam prep 6th or 7th
I agree with this. I think 6 should be fine since the PMBOK did not change and it has no effect. I did the exam on 4th Dece and failed mainly I was focued on the PMBOK and i practised with Fast Track 6. The question patterns were very differernt and tough

Rita's 6th edition is just fine
I am also studying with Rita's 6th edition. I did the research here already and the 6th edition is just enough...since the PMBOK didn't change. So don't worry and keep studying with Rita's 6th.

Rita's 7th Edition
Hello buddies, the Rita's 7th Edition of her book (even if she already died, but she had a co-author of it, of course the correct assumption is that - the book was already initially written even before she died).
Now, the 7th edition of the Book, has discussed the latest PMI - PMP Exam after some changes happend since August 2011. And most importantly, the 7th edition is a complementary of the her computer appliacation PMP FAstrack v7. If you are using this program and your reference is the 6th edition, then most likely you will be misled.

The 6th edition should be
The 6th edition should be good enough since there's barely anything new which has been added on to the 7th one.
The only thing which has changed is the narration tone which has been given a positive spin. "You'll not pass the exam since you don't have experience..." sort of comments have been changed over to "If you have X, Y, Z type of experience, then it'll be easier for you to pass..". In terms of chapter end questions, only 3-4 new ones have been added(out of some 400+).

P.S. Just out of curiosity, how come you're planning to take the exam in May of this year but posting the same on 18-July?

Is anyone aware that the PMP syllabus is changing by June this year. I just happened to hear, but not confirmed. If anyone has a confirmed news, please let me know.
