Result.. Too Good....
Hi SS and All,
I just received an email from his mobile phone and the news is, as expected, Dibakar Mukherjee has passed his PMP examination in Bangalore (India) today with, again as expected, all "P".
I am so happy that I could not resist the temptation of divulging this and did not even take Diba's consent. Sorry bro. I was helpless as I wanted few people of the likes of SS, Ali, Faisal, admin and respected Pawarji Sir to know of this.
Man you rock. I, like all of us, am deeply proud of you. We would look forward for a very detailed LLs as soon as the passing of PMP with all 5 Ps sink in :) :) : )
Enjoi....
Best, KK....

Thanks a lot KK!
Yes. It'll surely take some time for the truth to sink in now. The feeling you get when you see "Congratulations" on your screen with "Proficient" grade across all five domains unmatched! :-)
The PMP exam is grueling saga of four long hours which tests your patience, nerves and persistence more than the knowledge / experience of Project Management. But then of course, the end result is worth every single cent of the hard work that goes into the preps.
And I should also thank you, Saket Sir and others for the constant flow of suggestions, tips, tricks and advice. You guys boosted my confidence and made me believe that I was capable of achieving 5Ps.
Anyway, now it's time to uncork the spirits and celebrate, finally!
Hope to be back with a detailed LL post by this weekend.

Excellent, Mr. Dibakar (PMP)
Excellent…but nothing unexpected news. So diba is Dibakar….I am happy to know you by your name.
Mr. Dibakar (PMP) – Wish you good luck for your future project management career.
Once thing I do want to highlight that you have agreed after giving PMP and passing PMP exam, that I keep saying…
You do not pass PMP, neither you fail PMP exam just because of PM knowledge. Your smartness that includes (Aptitude, decision making skills, reading/understating skills, visualization power, common sense, patience, fear overcome etc) is equally responsible for your passing and failure.
The majority of PMP type question I answer for you all is just by using common sense. If you think about these, passing PMP would become very easy.

Couldn't have agreed more Saket Sir!
I don't want to open up a new debate here but now I'm sure that your 'test taking skills' contribute almost as much as your PM knowledge to ensure success in the PMP exam.
And my own experience of taking multiple choice tests(CAT etc.), though years back, surely helped me in building up a test taking strategy and use answer elimination techniques etc..
Cheers,

Yes
Very true Dibakar.
I also feel Diba tha all these skills of test taking, patience at al will only hold true if you have the right amount of knowledge. If you are confident on PMBOK, Maths and ITTOs, then test taking skills does come handy since it supplements one with the reqisite amount of confidence.
Warmly, KK

You should always debate
You should always debate as long as it’s healthy. I see you saying the same what I said. The only difference is your words are different than mine but in reality we are expressing the same thoughts. See these…
You say “'test taking skills' contribute almost as much as your PM knowledge” while I said…”You do not pass PMP, neither you fail PMP exam just because of PM knowledge”...are these not just reworded?
You say that you developed skills like experience of CAT exam (Aptitude, logical & reasoning), test taking strategy and use answer elimination techniques (decision making techniques). You have said in your original post about “long hours which tests your patience” etc. Do you not think, you are saying the same what I have said for my definition of smartness i.e. (Aptitude, decision making skills, reading/understating skills, visualization power, common sense, patience, fear overcome etc)
I have re-defined the meaning of smartness that I keep saying in this forum, how every individual develop these, its up to them, I don’t say the techniques because it does not have universal technique.
