examcentral.net

What is the general consensus of the quality of the examcentral.net site as a preperation site?

I have been going through the Q&A sections, one topic at a time and it seems nice (except for the odd spelling or grammatical error), but I wanted to find out what people think of the site who have used in as part of the study program.

Thanks,

Scot

I am taking a boot camp this week and the instructor recommended this site.  He finds the questions to be comparative of the test and likes the feedback with the correct answer and process and knowledge area references identified.

to be quite frank, I am likely going to use it exclusively if people find its quality is high enough. I haven't studied any written material except guidance for each question when I hit "show answer" after answering the question.

I am scoring in the high 70s and low 80s in either the first or second pass of each process group. Passing through the section once and learning from my mistakes and getting a higher score the next time around...Mostly because the first time around I will have a question that I have NO IDEA what the expected answer is, then once I learn...yes that makes sense and I seem to be answer all of that question type correctly after that...

I did the same thing with the CISSP...I had been in an IT Information Assurance environment for several years, and being neck high in the culture and execution of IA gave me all the tools I needed to pass that exam with doing nothing but practice exams to validate my knowledge and readiness.

I think examcentral.net is doing the same thing for me, validating that I already know this stuff and giving me the opportunity to pick up a few more nuggets of information, all because I have been executing as a IT project manager and program manager for several years. Most of the questions and answers seem to be either common sense or follow an expected flow...i.e. knowing which items are inputs, output or tools of processes. I get caught a couple of time here and there though, or I disagree with the answer but that's my opinion not the "correctness" of the answer as far as PMI and PMP exam goes. :)

Does this concern anyone? Would you tell me no please don't take the exam without studying the books, or do you think I am fine and should give the exam a shot?

Thanks,

Scot

If you are confident, there is no reason why you can't give it a shot. We all prepare differently. Some people study for 4 months - 20 hours a week and still feel that they are not ready. And some people study a total of 40 hours and pass it.

Go with your guts. Good Luck !

double post....sorry

Would the admin like to share with me why my last post was moderated on this thread? I didn't post anything offensive or spamy or anything that breaks any terms of service, yet there on the thread remain all the little spam messages that occur all over the site.

Just doesn't seem right.

I thought exam central was VERY easy compared to other questions (i.e. Rita's book, skillsoft, pmstudy).  Transecnder is offering a deal this week to get 40% off, and they have downable software.  I have heard they are very good and will refund your money if you don't pass.  I am sitting for the exam in a few weeks, and hope it works.
