Passed PMP Exam Today - 12/27/2012

Hi all,

I have passed my PMP exam today with 3 MPs and 2 Ps. Thanks to PMZilla, it has been big source of information.

Below are highlights of my preparation:

1. Prepared for 2 months and used PMBoK and Rita.

2. Studed PMBok 3 times and Rita 2 times. Rita is certainly a good one to start and get familier with all concepts.

3. Took 5 mock tests (all free) and got not very exciting results. But i was consistent.

PMStudy - 67%

Oliver 175 - 68%

PMZilla tough 30 - 68%

Exam central - 66%

Headfirst - 81%

Simpli Learn - 69%

4. Used Rajesh Nair's notes on last few days.

5. I understood all ITTO and with so many revisions I think i remembered most of them. (which actually helped in with atleast 6-7 direct questions on exam)

On Exam day:  Reviewed Rajesh Nair notes, all ITTO from PMBoK and Rita's page 43.

About exam:

1. Pretty close to all the mock tests (other than Oliver).  Questions were straight forward.

2.I was able to finish it in 3 hours and 15 mins. I took no break and completed the exam in one stretch. Reviewed the marked questions.

3. There were atleast 10 numericals  (Critical path, EVM, TCPI, PERT)

4. Atleast 5 questions on risk strategies (Mitigation,Avoid, Transfer, Accept, Share, Exploit)

5. No question on Professional and Social responsibility

My suggestion: Start taking mock exam after going through PMBoK and Rita once. Mock tests are really helpful to fill in the gaps.

Good luck to all the PMP aspirants.

Thanks!

Even I scored similar during my preparation. Key thing is practice, practice, practice mock up questions...

Congratulations and thx for sharing your inputs.
