Hi Team,
I have cleared PMP with 4Ps and 1 MP (in Initiating)on first attempt on feb 19th.
I would like to thank PMZilla forum and all those who wrote their LLs and posted Qn/Ans here,
I daily went through this forum in last 1 month.I wish I should have known of this quite earlier.
I had cool off time in office so I was lucky to get enough time preparation in these two months-Jan, and Feb.
I started with Headfirst and later covered PMBOK X2, Rita X2.
When I read PMBOK the first time along with Ritas book, I took notes of Ritas book for things which are not in PMBOK..and First round of pass PMBOK-Rita took me nearly 25 days to complete it..
After this I started giving mock exams and did revisions parallelly, so looking at mock tests I used to know what were gaps and I concentrated more on them.
Understanding concepts is utmost important. Try to understand tools/processes/artifacts in simple words, than remembering definations as they appear in PMBOK.
Anything unclear we should google them, get as much info as possible , there is plenty of info on blogs..People are doing great contribution to PM community through their blogs..
I referred deepfriedbrainproject.com, and Questions/Answers on PMZilla.
Ignore demotivating sentences on Rita's book, rest she is excellant, she sets your mind around PMP as she says!!
I considered numericals and maths as my strength, but on exam that proved wrong..preparation on schedule network diagrams was not upto std.
I couldnt even attempt 4-5 network problems. trade off with other qns..
Confidence is a key!! Try to build up your confidence level with every mock test you attend, from various sources.
Take this exam as challenge, and with systamatic study you can do it even if exam posses you many difficult situational/numerical questions.
This certification wouldnt have been possible without my husbands encouragement and support, also my 2 year kid's patience seeing me studying most of the freetime.. Now my son dont have to tell me "Amma, dont study please..."
Thanks again... PMZilla!
