performance metric

You are managing a project to update all corporate computers with a software patch. The budget for this entire project is $25,000. But as this task is executed, you realize that installing the patch on certain computers is more complex and time consuming than expected. This has resulted in increased costs. Which performance metric can clearly indicate this situation of overspending?

A) Schedule variance

B)Cost variance

C)Actual cost

D)Variance at completion

 B?

 should be B.

The cost over spending for a given point of time in the project is Cost variance. The other options

Actual cost doesn't give a picture of performance unless it is compared with earned value. The schedule variance will not show the overspending and Variance at completion at completion is the forecasted value, so I think it should be B, "cost Variance"
