I was a silent memeber of pmzilla for a few weeks. I passed it finally on my first attempt yesterday (4Ps)!! :-)

Wanted to thank all the contributors to this forum, great tips and support for preps. I especially appreciated materials by Anil Kumar Tanguturi, your formulae and tips sheet is a really good summary to recap before the exam.

On my preps:

In a focused way, I'd say it took me about 2-3 months to prepare. Rita's PMP Exam Prep was my primary source (along with PMBOK, of course) and I'd say it's as close as it can get to preparing you for the actual exam. I went thru it two times, but it won't hurt to do it more for those who have more time for preparations. I went thru PMBOK one time and skipped through it one more time two days before the exam. One thing though I have to mention (but it's my subjective view) - I wouldn't bother memorizing Rita's Process Chart. Try to remember the ITTOs from PMBOK - that's crucial - but Rita's chart was not too instrumental for me. The rest of the book was awesome.

I did a lot of mock tests in the last one month before the exam. I did all the tests listed on Oliver Lehmann's site. Did Rita's questions from her manual (2-3 times). And I paid for PM For Sure package of 6 (200) mock tests and did all of them. I'd recommend PMP For Sure, the tests are pretty much based on PMBOK content and test all the nitty gritty stuff which you skip thru when reading but which can come up on the exam.

Somebody on this forum gave this tip already but I'll reiterate - a great way to deal with your weak points and knowledge gaps (those which you might not know exist) is to necessarily go through all wrong answers, several times if needed (and thru correct answers too, if you have time).

I am now happily having the first relaxed weekend in months :-).
