Hey Guys,

Just passed PMP today (first attempt);  due to my nature of work , I focused my studies in the last week before the exam , I took it off and dedicated myself for PMP. Prior to  that I took a 4 month course ( too much , don't recommend) and I studied from the PMbook once or twice.

I got MP in all groups , except closing I got BP.

I didnt study from RITA at ALL; I think PMbook is enough unless you want elaboration in any of the concepts presented. in this case, Rita could help as a reference. so, final book list:
 

• PMbook -  a must , read it twice at least.

• Rita - If you want but  I didnt find it useful (sorry)

and, I also recommend a PMI membership , it will give you access to very good references:

• The Project Management Question and Answer Book by  Michael W. Newell and Marina N. Grashina  ---- I found this one very helpful, didnt read it all , just bits and pieces to fill the knowledge gaps.
• Quantitative Methods in Project Management , by  John Goodpasture
• Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling, 10th Edition by Harold Kerzner
• The PMP Exam Made Easy: Your 24-Hour Study Guide to Passing, 2012 Edition ( serves as a summary)

Order of actions 1 week before the exam ( make your own, this is an example)

1.  Study the PMbook
2. Solve 200 MCQ's and rate yourslef
3. Check the wrong questions and also check the rights ones (yes, again!) and check reference books when needed.
4. Create your own notes and review them periodically.
5. Read the one one line notes provided in Pmzilla and the ITTO hints,
6. Solve 200 MCQ's 
7. Repeat.

That should consume, like 12 hours a day if you can handle it.

I didnt memorize the ITTO , most of them seemed logical to me but  you can check your knowledge against ,for example, PMPforsure 100 tough ITTO questions (paid) and see if you require improvement.

Mock tests I did in the last week before the exam  ( don't aim for score, aim for understanding. score will come naturally)

• PMstudy ( test 1 & 2 ) : I think these ones are the closeset to the exam in terms of wording, style and difficulty.
• Pmpforsure ( like 4 x 100Q's tests) : this is also close to the exam but the 100Q option is great  for faster assessment.
• Oliver Lehmann 75 : you can't skip it  :) 
• PMP Exam Prep: Questions, Answers, & Explanations, 2012 Edition by  Christopher Scordo
• RITA fast track ( superPMP) : I did it , I thought it was a waste of time , questions are too long (sorry again)

and then one last very important resource is:

• 101 PMP Sample Questions for the PMP Exam :
  this one has a lot of PMP math ! I loved it ! although i dont think I did good in the EVM questions in the exam , this still holds as a very valuable resource.

So to wrap up:

• Always review both , wrong and right answers.
• PMbook is always your primary reference.
• you should not memorize the ITTO's . you should undertand them and the logic behind them.
• make sure you can answer 60 questions for each hour ( won't work with fast track)
• Exams from different sources are different in content and in wording, so try to attempt as many as you can.
• check the PMzilla forums reguraly, specially if you have doubts about some questions. it will be discussed and solved there ( 90% of the times)
• The exam is not that hard if you understand the material.
• make sure you take the exam in the appropriate language , because if you are not good in english, you may skip some important keywords in the questions. (be true to yourself)
• The exam is not hard but needs a lot of focus , so you will probably have to get a good sleep before the exam.
• Work hard and it will pay off.
