Retaking the Test

I failed my first attempt today and while I am disappointed, there were circumstances over the last couple of days that caused me to not be in the right frame of mind.

I would like to retake the test asap so when I got home I tried to schedule my second attempt but cannot figure out how. The PMBOK Handbook simple says that I need to schedule another appointment and pay the reexamination fee.

Went I go to the Prometric Test site to schedule the test, it asks for my Eligibility ID and I enter the Eligibility ID that I was assigned for my 1 year eligibility when I applied to PMI (good until November 2013). The testing site comes back and says Invalid ID.

Is there a step I am missing? Do I need to fill out a special form to re-examine within the year eligible or should the testing site be accepting my ID? Is there a minimum waiting period between each test within the 1 year of eligibility?

TIA

Shawn

I will be calling tomorrow. They were closed before I got a chance today. It looks like it could be 24-72 hours as I read in another thread. I will update with details once I get more information.

To those interested or having the same issue with trying to figure out how to signup to re-examine.

It can be 24-48 hours before you are able to do anything. It all depends on how fast the testing center uploads the information to PMI. Once they upload the information to PMI, PMI will send you an email with a link to scheduling a re-examination and paying ($275 for members and $375 for non-members). You can also access the same information in the email by going directly to the PMI site and logging on (but only after the testing center has uploaded your test information).

Of course you still have to be within the 1 year of eligibility and not already retaken it 2 times

I hope this helps!
