Hi,
This is a question from PMPforsure
Your subcontractor delivered building raw material 3 days late.To bring some degree of satisfaction he reduced its cost by 5%.This offer is an example of?
A) Compromise
B) Collaborate
C) Smoothing
D) Forcing
I selected the answer as 'A- Compromise',since the buyer is compromising for the delay by accepting the cost reduction. But the answer given by them is 'B-Collaborate'.I see these types of questions in other exams and the answer was 'compromise'.Please comment and guide me on this.
regards
Antony

I think it's compromise too
I think it's compromise too. I've seen this question in Rita's prep exam... Others may have some input. What was the explanation from PMP4sure?

It is collaborate!
Here it is not compromising and because it is a win-win and lose-lose situation from both the parties eg - you have lost 3 days but gained 5% of cost and the supplier has lost the 3% of his profit margin but agained the contractural delivery. I have read it in one of notes... Just in the procurement management.
