How in the world are people passing with 2- BP's

I have noticed a couple of people passing with 2- BP's and to me this severely undermines what it means to hold the PMP certification.

I would not even want to receive the certification if I received 2 BP's - that essentially means that you failed 40% of the exam.

It's very disappointing and I would call for PMI to reevaluate this. I don't believe you should pass with 1- BP let alone two.

I passed exam in July and seen 1 person given test along with me in test centre and passed with 3 BPs. It was really surprise for me.

If this is true that someone passed with 3 BP's I would gladly forfeit my PMP

because the distribution is not equal between the knowledge areas.

The weight distribution does not matter to me. The fact is there are 5 knowledge areas and if you have a failing evaluation on 2 of the 5 then you do not possess a satisfactory level of knowledge and should not be able to display the PMP designation.

If any of us performed our jobs at a proficient level 60% of the time would we still be employed?

Passing people who earn 2 BP's discredits and dilutes the certification that so many of us have worked so hard for.

I am very familiar with the weight distribution breakdown of the process groups. I can only imagine that these people are receiving BP's in initiating and closing but what that signifies is that they are not to the level one needs to be to be a Project Management PROFESSIONAL

I am in no way implying that these people do not accel at their daily jobs, I am sure they are more than competent professionals. But, to receive the PMP it gauges your mastery of the PMBOK and other related sources. I have spoken with many people who are accomplished in their field but could not pass the PMP, they simply do not test well.

"accel" or "axle"??
