Q - Manager approves bonus for "you"
You are the project manager for a large project that is completed on time and on budget. The customer and all of the stakeholders are pleased with the results. As a direct result of the successful completion of the project, your manager approves a bonus of $25,000 for you. There are fifteen members of the project team. One of the people in the project
team has been a very low contributor to the project; the other fourteen have all been above standard. What should you do with the money?
a. Keep the money yourself; you deserve it. And the manager gave it to you
b. Divide the money equally among all the team members
c. Ask the team members how they would divide the money
d. Divide the money equally among the team members except for the substandard team member
I dont understand why a would not be the correct answer. Also if d is selected, I'm guessing it would be unfair, but why?

Its ethical only
I believe the answer to this Q should be b, divide it equally as this appears ethically to be the best suited answer among all the choices. This guy was a low contributor but still, he was a member. Why was he not driven by others to perform, right! If there were other choices, then those should be something like ' based on performance' preset conditions, etc. Since it is left for the manager (by his manager) to decide, ethically he should distribute evenly.
I was going to say all the above, but then as youv'e mentioned above, there is a keyword 'bonus of $25,000 'FOR YOU', not for the whole team. So I would pocket it.

I would go with "A"
as everybody like to do it in the real world, i would go with "A"...
because, haven't been over-smart:I do think it was given for you by your manager in order to appreciate your competency of driving the project team successfully and meeting the proposed objectives ultimately. in short it's a personal gift!!
however, if it had been mentioned that you were gave $25,000 by the head appreciating the job done by your team .... i will go with the answer "B", but answer "C". because as the project go, somebody may not be able to contribute as much as other roles do due to may reasons. so with out doing a proper appraisal, it's unfair to come to conclusion on the performances of team members as you see... on the other hand, this is a completed project ....and also it's WIN -WIN...so end why do need another troubles..?
