Guidance needed

Hello all, I have failed the PMP exam on 12/30 and trying to attempt again but I need some guidance:

1. English is not my first language, I am having trouble completing 200 questions in 4 hrs time (I didn't take any breaks)

2. I did study Rita book / Rita's simulator & Rita hot topics. I did listen to pm precast videos too. But I didn't go through PMBOK 5 (just glanced at it)

3. How to find study groups

4. How soon I should go for 2nd attempt?

5. How many sets of 200 questions I should practice.

Rasuajak:

First, I think it amazing that anyone tries to pass the PMP in their 2nd or 3rd language.

1)  I believe you have not taken enough practice tests under time pressure.  I would suggest you practice with tests of an hour length.  When you can complete them on time, try to take a 4 hour practice test.

2)  Read PMBOK 5.  As you say, English is not your first language so reading PMBOK 5 may seem like a burden.  Reading Rita's book (I have taught from it) is a complementary test to PMBOK 5.  READ PMBOK 5.

3)  In the U.S. I have suggested people try using www.meetup.com or Craigslist to find local study groups.  You might also try using this website (with admin's permission) or LinkedIn to start a study group.

4)  How soon for 2nd attempt?  I would use a proven test resource like PMZilla.com and try testing out consistently above 70%.

5)  How many sets of 200 questions?  Take as many "sets" as you need to begin passing at 70% or beyond.  At the very least, you should be in the solid mid-sixties as a test taker.

People often talk about "taking" tests.  When I passed the PMP, I answered, studied, took notes on 1000 questions.  You might find my website post and video Am I Ready to Pass the PMP Test helpful.

Whatever you do, keep using PMZilla.com as a resource for your questions.  I wish I had used PMZilla.com more when I was studying for the PMP.

Best Wishes on Passing the PMP in 2015,
