Passed PMP on Jan 28th
first scheduled the exam on 20th Jan and after that postponed to Jan 28th because of some mandatory training in the company. and cleared the exam in the 1st attempt.
This forum really helped in guiding me to prepare for the exam. the posts from the members after they cleared the exam, the strategy they followed, books they read, ho much time they spent each day etc things gave me some direction how to plan for the exam and execute that plan. all the links provided here for the mock exam let me monitor how I was performing. Finally I was able to close the project successfully.
Andy Crowe book gave me complete understanding of all the knowledge areas. then I read PMBOK just like a novel.
PMStudy exams are really really close to the real exam. 50 dollars for 12 days for 4 exams. I did each exam twice. For the missed questions i referred PMBOK again.
Chowdary notes is awesome for final review. I recommend that for every one attempting PMP exam. it is available in the PMP material section. Thanks for Chowdary for sharing and pmzilla admin for making that available for everyone.

I did not memorize the ITTOs just understood them. I did not memorize the formulas too. The math problem questions in the exam are not that tough. you can do those by understanding the PV EV SV CV etc.
Thanks again for all the support and help

Failed badly in my PMP exam today
Hi All
I failed very badly today in my exam and feeling bad despite having put lot of efforts in reading the PMBOK and Rita twice each, Andrew & Headman as well. Got about 70% in the practice exams too. However, I found the questions in the exam were extremely tricky with possible 2 answers for most of them. I read few of the comments here and i will practice ITTOs which i was not excellent with. Most of the questions in different ways with options mostly reflecting quality charts. I got many questions surrounding scope!
I want to complete PMP asap in my 2nd attempt. Please help me. Share whatever possible.
Thanks
Lekha

I see around 30-35 questions
I see around 30-35 questions on ITTOs. I memorised 5 process groups and the processes in each process group and the knowledge area that process belongs to.
its been long time since I memorized something. so I created a blank template and fill that template every day after I come home from work. that made me think about the processes every day.

tips..
Lekha,
As you have read pmbok & rita twice each, my advice would be to do the following for your 2nd attempt:
1. Try giving 175 questions from this site, these questions are very near to what you see in actual exam: http://www.oliverlehmann.com/contents/free-downloads/175_PMP_Sample_Questions.pdf
2. Attempt One more set of 200 questions from: http://www.headfirstlabs.com/PMP/free_exam/
3. For any formulas/notes etc, please download my notes (PMP Notes - Rajesh Nair.xlsx) which I have uploaded at:
http://pmzilla.com/comprehensive-pmp-notes
4. In Rita, at the end of each chapter there is a set of 40 odd questions, you must try them atleat once.

Question on Rajesh's notes
The ImpPoints -3 sheet in Rajesh Nair's notes has some options like choiceA) choice B) and it looks like an explanation for picking up the answers.Where are the questions for these answers.
Thanks,
Lalitha

Tomorrow is Another Day, Dont worry
Dont worry Lekha life is full of good & bad things. I personally feel that things happen for a very good reason I am sure the almighty loves us all & is the biggest well wisher of us. Coming to your problem, its appreciable that you invested a lot of time & effort in reading those books but did you actually understand each & every thing because this exam is more of a scenario implementation based rather just facts & figures. The goal people try to achieve by reading the book 2-3 times is to accumulate the understanding of concept with each round of reading. No offense but I feel you might have not actually understood most of the concepts of PMP. To determine whether you understood things properly or not is to keep prcaticing as many mcq's as possible. Another thing is that mark the questions of tests which you were not very confident or just answered by picking it blindly & later evalute which part of that marked question you could not understand to solve the problem. The intention of giving these tests only gives more information as to which area is lacking understanding. Well having said that all finally remember understand indepth & one of the well known US Presidents Abraham Lincoln failed almost 13 times before he was elected president. So if he can try even after 13 failures I am sure failing one time should not be a big deal.
